Features of WAKA

Tea Procurement Routes Across Japan

Through our own carefully developed sourcing routes, we handle a wide variety of teas from Kyoto, Nara, Yame, and Kagoshima.
We also place strong emphasis on organically grown teas and offer a curated range of products designed to meet the needs of overseas markets.

A Rich Variety of Teas

Alongside teas sourced from a wide range of regions, we offer an extensive selection that includes sencha, gyokuro, matcha, kabusecha, hojicha, genmaicha, kukicha (karigane), deep-steamed sencha, bancha, and Japanese black tea, among others.

In addition, many distinctive teas are available depending on their place of origin, such as Uji matcha, Yame gyokuro, Shizuoka deep-steamed sencha, Kagoshima Chiran tea, Sayama tea, Kakegawa tea, and Ureshino tamaryokucha. Each tea is carefully selected to ensure consistently high quality.

Cultivation at Our Own Farm

We own and operate a tea farm in Nara Prefecture, specializing in the cultivation of matcha.

Our primary cultivar is Yabukita. New shoots are grown under shade to develop umami, then harvested at their optimal moment. The leaves are steamed and processed into tencha, which is subsequently ground slowly using traditional stone mills. This careful process brings out a fine, smooth texture and a deep, vibrant green color.

To preserve freshness, the tea is stored at low temperatures and ground only as needed. Finished matcha is shipped under nitrogen to protect its quality.

We also maintain strict lot control and conduct pesticide residue testing to ensure consistently high-quality matcha.

Export & Private-Label Production

We supply high-quality tea to partner companies and wholesalers, primarily in the United States and Europe. Our lineup includes a wide range of teas—such as matcha, sencha, hojicha, genmaicha, and Japanese black tea—tailored to the preferences and needs of each market.

Using tea leaves harvested from our own farms and trusted partner farms, we also support private-label and custom tea production. From product planning and tea selection to package design and small-batch manufacturing, we offer flexible solutions to help bring original tea brands to life.

Our strength lies in our ability to respond to diverse wholesale needs, providing everything from ingredients for beverages, confectionery, and food service to finished gift-ready products.
