JAPANESE TEA MAP

Explore yellow regions

Kyoto

Founded in the first year of Showa. We offer tea from Ujitano in Ujitawara-cho, Kyoto — one of Japan's finest tea-growing regions. Matcha, green tea, hojicha, genmaicha, and more than 30 varieties.

Nara

Matcha from our own Yamato tea farm in Yamashiro Village, Nara — where skilled artisans oversee every step from cultivation to processing.

Fukuoka

Yame tea from Yame City, Fukuoka — especially renowned as a premium gyokuro producer. Known for exceptional umami, smoothness, deep green color and refined aroma.

Gyokuro — The Tea of Deep Umami

Gyokuro

Gyokuro is Japan's most refined premium tea. The entire field is covered 20 days before harvest, concentrating umami and sweetness.

Brewed slowly at low temperature, it delivers a smooth, viscous texture with a rich, lingering aroma.

Carefully selected Nara, Uji, and Yame matcha — connecting Japan's rich tea culture

Matcha

WAKA's matcha is crafted deep in the mountains of Nara. Shade-grown leaves are steamed, finished into tencha, then stone-milled into an exceptionally fine green powder.

Vibrant green color, rich umami, and a subtly complex aroma define every batch.

Genmaicha — Roasted rice and green tea in perfect harmony

Genmaicha

Genmaicha blends roasted Japanese rice with green tea. The rice is roasted to a golden, toasted richness, then blended with sencha or bancha to achieve warmth and lightness in every cup.

Hojicha — A moment of calm wrapped in roasted warmth

Hojicha

Our original hojicha from Yamato, Nara — roasted by hand at around 200°C, with the artisan adjusting heat by sound and aroma alone. A clear amber cup with clean, roasted fragrance and a gentle finish.

Grown in the nature of Yamato — a clean, refreshing taste

Sencha

Our original sencha is produced end-to-end at WAKA. First-flush shoots are hand-picked in spring, immediately steamed to preserve color and aroma, then slowly rolled to distribute umami evenly.

Clean, refreshing astringency and soft sweetness in every cup.

Wakocha — Japanese black tea with soft sweetness and a gently blooming aroma

Wakocha

New shoots are gently harvested and slowly withered by natural air, beginning the oxidation that gives this Japanese black tea its characteristic soft sweetness. The result: a smooth, mellow cup with a delicate floral finish.
